U.N.I.T.Y. is a band from Wilmington, NC. This is a four piece band whose members include; Daniel “Showtime” Barrett (Singer/Songwriter), Harkeem “Hollywood” Brantley (Pianist), Tyleek “Beast” Bazil (Drummer), and Joey “Guru” Lamb (Bassist). The distinctive sound of the group is known to captivate all of their listeners with their powerful message of positivity and love. Their incredible sound is a mixture of R&B, Rock, Pop, and Soul. They are also influenced by many legendary artists such as: the “King of Pop” Michael Jackson, James Brown “The Godfather of Soul”, legendary reggae artist Bob Marley, and the phenomenal Beyonce’ herself. [br][br] U.N.I.T.Y released two singles, “Fear” and “We Gotta Make a Change” in 2016.They are currently working on putting out new music. The band has many notable accomplishments such as opening up for VILL*NOVA, New Politics, Tony Terry,Slum Village, David Banner, Rico Barrino, The 69 boys, Case and Dj Luke Nasty. U.N.I.T.Y. has also performed at various places and stages like: The University of North Carolina at Pembroke, The University of North Carolina Wilmington, Lincoln Theatre (Raleigh, NC), The Grey Eagle (Asheville, NC), and Ziggy’s by the Sea (Wilmington, NC). [br][br] Daniel Barrett was born on August 22, 1996 in Fayetteville, NC. He started to play the piano at age 14, and then he started to sing at age 16. Daniel is the singer/songwriter of the group who’s phenomenal talents continue to elevate the band. Daniel Barrett has a very big personality which makes him easy to approach. He is extremely goofy and loves to laugh. Daniel also is a very free spirited person and loves to have fun in life. [br][br] Tyleek Bazil was born on May 27, 1997 in Wilmington, NC. He started playing drums at the age of 2, and began singing at 15 years old. Tyleek is the drummer of the group, tasked with holding everything together and keeping everyone on one accord. Tyleek is a very loving, and caring person who always strives to be the best he can be in everything he does. The way he carries himself is very confident while still very humble. He never craves attention, but you can feel his presence when he walks in the room. [br][br] Harkeem Brantley was on November 1,1997 In Wilmington, NC. He started playing bass at age 12, and started playing piano shortly after at age 14. Harkeem is the keyboard player of the group, his high energy and captivating chords keep the crowd engaged and constantly vibing with the music. Harkeem has a very loving and caring personality, with a huge heart to match. He loves to have fun not only through playing music but dance as well. [br][br] Joey Lamb was born on July 8, 1997. He started to play the drums at the age of 2, and started to play bass at 17. Joey being the bassist of the group always lays down the grooves that make the songs what they are. Joey is also the “old man” of the group. He is very shy and quiet at first, but once you get to know he never shuts up. Joey has a huge passion for music, and wants to be the best at it one day. [br][br] U.N.I.T.Y. stands for “Uniting Nations In The Years to come” which is one of the main goals of the band. U.N.I.T.Y. strives to impact nations through their music by encouraging people to always follow their dreams, never let anyone or anything stop them, and be the best version of themselves possible.
